Art Attack!

Individuals from across the North West have been busy with their paintbrushes taking part in a special art competition to help brighten the office walls of The SLC Groups’ central office in Lancashire.

The competition featured 20 artists, who are all supported by The SLC Group’s supported living organisations; Paragon, Raglin and Paragon Homelife. The SLC Group supports people with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and mental health needs to live independently and lead fuller lives. The art competition was organised to encourage individuals to get creative and produce some unique artwork that can go on display at The SLC Groups’ new office reception in Chorley.

The vibrant and lively winning painting (left) impressed the panel of judges, who included The SLC Group Chief Executive, Charles Eggleston. Judges were left with the unenviable task of choosing the winner and two runners up.

All the artists attended a special award ceremony in July were the three finalists received a plaque in honour of their success and everyone who took part received a certificate of achievement.

The SLC Group chief executive Charles Eggleston said: “It is fantastic that so many people entered the competition and I am delighted to see many of the artists here today. All the pieces entered demonstrate the wealth of talent we have across the group and I am impressed by the commitment and enthusiasm of everyone who took part. We had a difficult job picking first place, but well done to everyone who took part.”

The artwork is now up on display at The SLC Groups central office in Chorley.
